ABOUT VIRGINIA CAREER WORKS PIEDMONT REGION

The Piedmont Workforce Development Board has the central role of providing leadership and direction on local strategic workforce issues, identifying local needs and developing strategies to address those needs. The Piedmont Workforce Development Board is comprised of members from both the public and private sector. Members include representatives of business, education, economic development, labor, community-based organizations, and Career Center required partners.

Our Geographic Region

The Virginia Career Works – Piedmont Region includes the counties of Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, Rappahannock, Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson and the city of Charlottesville.

Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act

Our Board is responsible for the oversight and administration of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act’s (WIOA) Adult, Dislocated Worker and Youth programs in the Central Virginia region. These programs are designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and to match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.
